Let’s start with this;

Hickory Bark:

  • The Alexander Brothers announced that they intend to harvest and sell hickory bark next spring. The details are on Shea’s substack. They’ll be using the Boggs bark machine, which is delightfully odd and awesome, and it makes beautiful, uniform bark. Check out Shea’s post if you’ve ever wanted to use bark but have a hard time sourcing it. (Which is because there’s a large demand and very little supply on the market…thank you, Shea, for supplying it.)

Spokeshave Review:

  • I recently picked up a flat sole spokeshave by The Melborne Tool Company (purchased at the Shelter Institute for $122). I expect students to have questions and I’d like to have an opinion. Plus I’m a sucker for a new spokeshave.
